The plain version

You install Image Voice through Shopify, Shopify bills you, and you can leave whenever you like. The app changes only the alt text on your images, only with your approval unless you have switched on auto-pilot, and every change can be undone for 30 days. It writes with AI, so read what it writes — we don't promise rankings, traffic, or legal compliance, and we won't pretend a tool can make those promises. If something goes wrong, email us and the person who built the app will answer. Everything below is that, in detail.

Who you're agreeing with

These terms are an agreement between you and Leaf Digital Partners LLC, a California limited liability company which operates the Leaf Digital apps and this website ("we", "us"). "You" means the business that installs one of our apps or uses this website, and the person accepting these terms confirms they have authority to bind that business. Our apps are built for merchants running a business, not for consumers.

What these terms cover

This website, the Image Voice app for Shopify, and the waitlist for the apps we have not shipped yet. How we handle data is set out in our privacy policy, which is part of these terms. Your use of Shopify itself — including the App Store and Shopify's billing — is governed by your agreement with Shopify, and nothing here changes it.

Plans and billing

  • Prices are published. The current plans are on the Image Voice page: Audit at $0.00, Keeper at $8.90 a month and Curator at $28.90 a month, in US dollars. There are no custom quotes and no annual contracts.
  • Shopify bills you, not us. Charges appear on your Shopify invoice and are collected by Shopify under your agreement with them. We never see or store your payment details.
  • Audit is free, and it does not expire. It stays free for as long as you keep the app installed, within the allowances shown on the plan.
  • Paid plans renew monthly until you downgrade or uninstall. Allowances are per plan and per billing month, as shown on the pricing page.
  • Paid plans start with a 14-day free trial. You approve the subscription in Shopify when you install and choose Keeper or Curator. The first charge comes when the 14 days end — uninstall or downgrade before then and you are not charged.
  • Founding Curator. The first 25 stores to take the offer pay $14.45 a month for Curator — half price — for as long as that subscription stays active. Cancelling ends it; it does not transfer to another store.
  • Price changes. If we change the price of a plan you are on, we will tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can downgrade or uninstall before it does.
  • Refunds. Because billing runs through Shopify, any refund is issued through Shopify. We don't refund charges already billed as a matter of course, but if the app didn't do what we said it would, write to us — we would rather refund you than keep money we didn't earn.

What the app does to your store

Image Voice reads your product, blog and theme images and their alt text, and writes alt text back. It cannot change your theme code, your products' other fields, your prices, or the images themselves. By default nothing is applied until you approve it. If you switch on auto-pilot, you are telling the app to apply descriptions without asking each time, within the scope you set, until you switch it off. Every change the app makes is recorded with its before and after, and can be undone for 30 days from the day it was made.

AI-written content

Descriptions are written by an AI model from your image and the text already in your store. They will usually be right and will sometimes be wrong. You are responsible for reviewing what you approve, and for what your store publishes. Alt text supports search visibility and accessibility, but we do not promise any search ranking, traffic, or sales result, and we do not promise that using the app makes your store compliant with any accessibility law or standard.

Your content and ours

  • Yours. Your store, its content, and the alt text written for it are yours, including descriptions the app wrote and you applied. You give us permission to process that content only as far as needed to run the app for you, as described in the privacy policy.
  • Ours. The apps, this website, and our names and marks belong to us. You may use the apps for your own store; you may not copy, resell, reverse engineer, or build a competing product from them, or use them to process content you don't have the right to use.

Using the apps fairly

Don't use our apps to break the law or anyone's rights, to probe or disrupt our systems, to get around a plan's allowances, or to put content in your store that you would not be allowed to publish yourself. If a store does, we may suspend the app for that store, and we will tell you why unless the law stops us.

If your store causes a claim

If someone brings a claim against us because of your store's content, your use of the apps in breach of these terms, or your breaking the law or someone's rights, you'll cover the costs and damages of that claim. We'll tell you promptly and let you run the defense, and we won't settle it on your behalf without asking you.

Apps in the lab and the waitlist

Joining a waitlist puts your email on one list for every app we have not shipped yet. It is not a subscription and costs nothing. Apps in the lab may change, ship later than hoped, or not ship at all; anything this website says about them describes our plans, not a promise. Launch offers such as Charter pricing are set out in full, with their conditions, when the app launches, and apply only to stores that install it then.

Availability and changes to the apps

We work to keep the apps running and correct, but we don't guarantee they will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may change or improve features; if we remove something a paid plan relies on, we will tell you in advance and you can downgrade or uninstall.

Leaving

You can stop at any time by uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin. Alt text already applied stays in your store — nothing is deleted or held back. About 48 hours after you uninstall, Shopify asks us to erase your store's data and we do, as described in the privacy policy. We may end these terms for a store that breaks them, with notice where we reasonably can.

Disclaimers and liability

The apps and this website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties not stated in these terms, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, or data, and our total liability for any claim relating to these terms or the apps is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim arose, or US$100 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow some of these limits; where they don't, they apply as far as allowed.

The law that applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be heard in the state or federal courts located in Orange County, California, and both of us agree to their jurisdiction. Before either of us starts a formal dispute, we'll write to the other describing the problem and allow 30 days to fix it — most problems are fixed in one email.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, we will update the date at the top. For a change that materially affects paid users, we will tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before it takes effect. The current version always lives at this address.

The small print

If part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still stands. We may assign these terms to a successor of the business; you may not assign them. These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between us — nothing on a marketing page adds a promise these terms don't make. Sections that by their nature outlive your use — your content and ours, disclaimers and liability, disputes — survive after you uninstall.
