Image Voice vs StoreSEO
Last updated: September 11, 2026
StoreSEO and Image Voice are not really the same kind of app, and pretending otherwise would waste your time. StoreSEO is a full SEO suite — meta titles, schema, sitemaps, Search Console, image compression, and alt text as one feature among many. Image Voice does one thing. If you need the suite, you need StoreSEO, and nothing on this page should talk you out of it.
What StoreSEO actually does
From its App Store listing:
Generate meta titles, descriptions, product copy, tags, and image alt text in bulk. Compress and resize images to improve store speed. Add JSON-LD and FAQ schema, create sitemaps and LLMs.txt, and request indexing. Connect Google Search Console and Google Analytics to track SEO performance.
That is a lot of work for one app to take off your hands, and 745 reviews averaging 5.0 say it does it well. It also carries the Built for Shopify badge.
Where StoreSEO is better
Nearly everywhere that is not alt text.
- Scope. Schema markup, sitemaps, indexing requests, meta titles and descriptions, image compression and resizing, keyword tracking, Search Console and Analytics. Image Voice does none of those.
- Track record. 5.0 across 745 reviews, and the Built for Shopify badge. We have no reviews yet and no badge.
- A real free plan for the whole job. Its free tier covers 25 products, including its image alt text optimizer.
What is actually different
In StoreSEO, alt text is one line in a suite. In Image Voice, it is the whole product.
That difference is not about quality — StoreSEO's listing does not describe how its alt text is written, so we will not speculate about it. It is about where the attention goes. A suite is priced and designed around everything it does; its plans are measured in products, not images, and the alt text is one of many things those plans include.
Image Voice is built only around the question of whether each image is described. It grades what you already have as missing, junk, weak or good, with a vision-checked sample you read yourself. It reads each image individually and writes what is in the frame. Nothing reaches your store until you approve it — unless you later switch on auto-pilot — and every change is undoable for 30 days on every plan. On Curator it covers theme images too — banners, sliders, section imagery — not just products.
You can run both
This is the honest answer for a lot of stores. StoreSEO for the SEO suite; Image Voice for the alt text. They do not do the same job, and the alt text written by one will simply be graded by the other.
If you already run StoreSEO and are happy with it, the useful question is not "which app," it is "is the alt text it wrote any good." That is exactly what the free audit answers.

What to do about it
Run the free audit on the alt text StoreSEO has written. No card, nothing written to your store.
If it comes back good, keep StoreSEO for everything and you have saved yourself an app. If it comes back weak, you know the alt text is the part worth adding a specialist for — and you keep the suite for the rest.
